
Art Cinema at mima is a series of four screenings curated by yours truly and taking place at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (mima). The first one took place earlier this month. The films featured were:

Meshes of the Afternoon - USA 1943, director Maya Deren with Alexander Hammid (new score by Year of Birds)
Gertie the Dinosaur - USA 1914, director Winsor McCay
Gimmie The Mermaid - USA 2002, director Tim Maloney
Violent Combat Robots - USA c2007, director Tim Maloney

all screenings are free, and many not be suitable for the young or the very very normal
